Billing Manager

The Billing Manager manages the company's billing operations and the department staff. The ideal candidate will be a working manager, able to manage a team and carry out any and all tasks as necessary for the success of the department and the company. Seek and recommends ways to use technology to improve operational efficiency Hire, train, direct, and oversee the performance of staff Work with Senior Management on difficult claims Analyze accounts receivables and various billing related reports Perform quarterly billing audits to ensure timely and accurate processing of charge and payment postings Conduct a detailed review of Explanation of Benefits forms from commercial and managed care payors Monitor and ensure patient adherence to budget plan agreements Initiate modifications of all procedural paperwork related to accounts receivable and investigate new process improvement technology for operational efficiency Maintain practice fee schedule, CPT, ICD-9-CM, adjustment, payment, and payor files Maintain and distribute payment contracted schedules Obtain updated payment schedules from contract carriers annually Prepare fee/payment comparative report quarterly Maintain carrier contracts and compliance files Distributes formularies to clinical staff as received from carriers QUALIFICATIONS AND
Experience:
Bachelors degree in business, accounting, or related field required 3 years of experience managing an office and supervising staffing in a medical field 3 years of experience processing and managing billing, collection, accounts receivables, claims or similar environment Ability to do, oversee, and manage operational details of key areas including insurance claim processing, payment posting, insurance claim follow up, and patient collections Highly computer literate and experienced with EMR and PMS systems, MS Office Suite, Accounting software packages, Internet searches. Previous experience utilizing practice management software is essential. Proven managerial success in analyzing and presenting various accounts receivable/Billing related reports Strong knowledge of CPT and ICD-9-CM coding; otolaryngology coding preferred Solid understanding of managed care contractual arrangements Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and work under pressure This is a full-time direct hire opportunity offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.
